The girls and I were well on our way to a rough day this morning. V was up at 2:15 fighting sleep until I finally got her rocked down at 2:45 only for the dog to wake up with an upset stomach at 2:50. It took every bit of half an hour to clean up during which V woke back up and wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I had to start all over with her. Add in an extremely persistent neighbor dog, a fire siren, and the monster truck that evidently lives on our street and you have one grumpy daddy and mama. I woke up exhausted, Vada woke up screaming, and Lucy hates mornings.
I didn't want that to be how our day went. I am a firm believer in doing something special with my girls everyday, even if its just laying a quilt down in the back yard to read together. I really wasn't feeling like getting us all dressed and in the car but knew it would be best for everyone. After Lucy had watched far too much TV and belle caught a quick nap, we headed out to lunch. Just us girls. Turns out it was exactly what we all needed. And we even made it home before the rain started.
Lucy made friends with the little girls sitting outside.
A quick lunch, one ice cream cone and some cheddar bunnies... it is going to be a good day.
