The Norm: 3 and a half teeth. crawling, quickly. starting to pull up on things. 25 pounds. no, not sleeping through the night. two or three naps a day. eating soft, chunked food but hates purees. Drinking water from a sippy cup. Says Da Da, Mum, and Bye Bye. Waves bye bye.
The Little Things: your tongue darting in and out over your new teeth. the way you cross your feet in the car or when playing on the floor. the little curls behind your ears when you get out of the bath. the booty shaking dancing you do for music. your scrunch nose snort face. the wrestling matches most people refer to as nursing. just how fast you stop crying when mama picks you up. your low pitched growling ramble that goes on and on. when your sister left a wasabi pea on the floor and you flapped like a bird and kept wiping your nose. the vast array of things I have fished out of your cheeks since you started crawling. painting your toes for the first time. the way you cover your eyes so I can't see when you fall asleep. using my collarbone as a teether. the kissing noise you make when daddy comes home from work. the one laugh i can get out of you by kissing your neck and chin.
